Lady Devils post two wins in district basketball action

Lancaster High School broke its five-game losing streak last week, picking up two Northern Neck District wins back-to-back to improve to 2-2 in varsity girls basketball.

The Lady Devils just missed a third win in regional play, losing to Mathews by two in overtime.

LHS had a four-point win over Rappahannock on Thursday, January 15, and won its first game of the season on Tuesday, January 13, with a one-point victory over Westmoreland.

The Lady Devils, now 2-5 overall, will play at Colonial Beach tonight, January 22, and go to Middlesex tomorrow, January 23.

An eight-point second quarter made the difference for the Devils last week in a 20-16 win over the Raiders.

After a scoreless first quarter, Lancaster put up eight unanswered points in the second quarter….
