Although the Lady Devils are still seeking their first win of the season, team spirit is up and the work ethic improved, according to varsity girls soccer coach Allyson Umstead.
“Compared to last year, it’s like a whole new team,” she said. “Technically this is just year number two for us and we are playing schools that have had teams for years and years and years.”
After going scoreless in 4-0 and 6-0 losses to Bruton and Northampton to open the season, sophomore returner Brittney Nelson scored Lancaster’s first goal of the season in a 5-1 loss to Nandua.
