Henry Smith had a hat trick and Kiran Bhattari a goal as Lancaster picked up its first win of the season, 4-3, last Friday over Essex in a Northern Neck District varsity boys soccer game.
It was only fitting that the varsity Red Devils got the win before a crowd that included dozens of young YMCA soccer players, ages 8 and younger, in celebration of Future Red Devils night. The YMCA players were recognized pre-game and escorted Lancaster’s players on the field during opening announcements.
