Lady Devils soccer team shows promise for the future

Coach Allyson Umstead is mourning a season that won’t happen, but looking forward with promise at the future of Lancaster High School’s girls soccer program.

The Lady Devils got in a pre-season scrimmage against Bruton two weeks ago before the governor closed schools for two weeks to prevent the spread of COVID-19. This week, he closed schools for the remainder the year, putting an end to the spring sports season.

“We had so much potential and I had a lot of hope for this season,” said Umstead. “So we need to carry that hope and expectation into next year.”
