Essex got as close as seven early in the third quarter before Lancaster went on a 15-point run to beat the Lady Trojans, 67-40, in a Northern Neck varsity girls basketball game last Thursday.
The Lady Devils improved to 10-5 overall and will host Colonial Beach tomorrow, January 25.
Lancaster jumped to an 18-2 first quarter lead behind Aniyah Brown’s seven points then allowed Essex a 21-14 run in the second with six points from Sherece Ball and five from Sydney Ross.
