Lady Indians advance in regional soccer, despite losing district final to W&L

After losing to Washington & Lee in the Northern Neck District tournament championship, Northumberland rallied for a quarterfinal win in the Region A girls soccer tournament.

The Lady Indians beat Essex, 7-2, in the regional game to earn another shot at the Lady Eagles in the region semifinals. Washington & Lee beat Windsor, 3-0, in a quarterfinal to advance.

West Point, an 8-0 quarterfinal winner over Middlesex, and Northampton, a 3-0 winner over Franklin, will play in the other semifinal. The winner will meet at 6 p.m. tonight, May 30, at the higher seed.
