Lancaster boys place third, girls fourth, at Charles City track meet

Lancaster’s boys finished third among 10 teams and its girls took fourth out of seven at a track and field meet at Charles City last Thursday.

Lancaster’s boys won six events to score 96 points. Middlesex won the meet with 135.5 points and King William was the runner-up with 117.

Domonique Veney led the LHS boys team, winning both the mile (4:47) and the two mile (10:45). His teammate De’Avion Harding finished just behind Veney in the 3200 as the runner-up in 11:01.

On the short track, Lancaster speedster Chris Dameron ran to a first-place finish in the 100-meter dash, beating out a field of 36 runners. Dameron sprinted to the win in 11.56. He also scored in the long jump with a fourth-place finish (18’9.5”).

Marcus Keeve led the LHS middle distance runners with a win in the 400-meter dash in 53.12 and Hezekiah Faunterloy led in field events, winning the shot put with a 41’7” throw.

Lancaster’s 4X800 meter relay team also took first in 9:02.24…
