Lancaster boys win Polar Bear Meet; Foulkes sets unofficial Class 1 record

Lancaster High School sprinter Michael Foulkes ran his best time of the season and recorded the unofficial fastest time in the state for Class 1 runners in the 1000 meter the Northumberland Polar Bear Meet on Friday, February 11.

Lancaster’s 4X400 meter boys relay team of Foulkes, Matthew Kane, Jameson Scott and Trajan Waddy also posted a state qualifying time of 3:49.44 and Lizzy Woolard earned her state berth in the 1000 meter run.

Lancaster won the boys meet with 98 points, Mathews was second with 60 and host Northumberland third with 55.

Foulkes’ time of 2:44.83 is the fastest time in Class 1A/2A, according to LHS assistant coach James Timm. Bruton’s Louis Wincheski had the fastest time of 2:45.57 until Foulkes beat that last Friday.
