LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, December 9, with the Hon. Steven S. Smith presiding.
Michele W. Smith of Deltaville was arraigned on a felony for possession of a Schedule I/II substance. A trial is scheduled for February 24.
In the case of Alkendra Coleman of Mollusk, who previously pleaded guilty to an amended felony charge of distributing to accommodate a Schedule I/II substance and was given a deferred disposition, a hearing was scheduled for June 9. Coleman also is charged with a felony for violating probation. A hearing on that charge also is scheduled at that time.
In the case of Bresiane’ I. Dobbins of Warsaw, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction of permitting an unlicensed person to drive, the trial was continued to February 24.
Thomas W. Hathaway of Reedville pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor for driving while intoxicated, first offense; and a misdemeanor for failing to stop at the scene of an accident, with damage greater than $500. He received a 90-day suspended sentence and 12-month suspended sentence respectively and was ordered to pay a $250 fine and $353 in court costs. A misdemeanor charge of reckless driving was nolle prossed and a status hearing related to a remaining felony charge of eluding/disregarding police was scheduled for December 8, 2023.
Dausha D. Nutt of Heathsville, appealing a General District Court misdemeanor conviction of driving 52 mph in a 35 mph zone, pleaded no contest to an amended charge of defective equipment. She was ordered to pay a $50 fine and $161 in court costs.
