Sheriffs’ Reports 12-15-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against nine individuals.

Felonies

Cortez Jamar Williams, 33, of Lancaster was charged December 5 with maliciously shooting, stabbing, cutting or wounding with intent to maim, disfigure, disable or kill, where the victim was thereby severely injured and was caused permanent damage.

Thomas Campbell, 67, of Fulton, Md., was charged December 8 with driving while intoxicated, third offense in 10 years, with a BAC of over .20%, and failure to drive on the right side of the road.

Ronald Edward Holmes Jr., 56, of Lancaster was charged December 8 with a probation violation on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Kilmarnock man, 58, was charged December 5 with assault.

A Warsaw woman, 29, was charged December 6 with shoplifting/concealing goods valued at less than $1,000.

A Warsaw woman, 24, was charged December 6 with shoplifting/concealing goods valued at less than $1,000.

A Weems man, 32, was charged December 6 with driving while intoxicated, first offense, with a BAC of between .15%-.20%, and reckless driving.

A Lancaster man, 57, was charged December 8 with shoplifting/concealing goods valued at less than $1000.

A White Stone man, 43, was charged December 11 with contempt of court: failure to appear.

Activity report

December 5: Staff responded to Mary Ball Road in the Lively area for a reckless driver, to a walk-in report of obtaining money by false pretense, to the 400 block of Devils Bottom Road for construction fraud, and to the 100 block of Sandy Lane for a missing juvenile.

December 6: Staff responded to the 3200 block of Irvington Road for threats made to harm another, to the 200 block of Flats Lane for damage to property/landscaping, to the 100 block of Hatton Avenue for a juvenile behavior issue, to the 500 block of Chesapeake Drive for a parking violation, to the 1200 block of Slabtown Road for a wanted person, and to the 3900 block of Lara Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash.

December 7: Staff responded to Hoecake Road for a downed tree in the roadway, and to the 100 block of Foxhill Drive to assist Kilmarnock Police Department with a person with an altered mental status.

December 8: Staff responded to the 800 block of Kamps Mill Road for suspicious activity, to the 8800 block of Mary Ball Road for a disorderly person, to Mary Ball and Alphonso roads for an abandoned vehicle in the roadway, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for a possible intoxicated driver, and to Mary Ball Road between White Stone and Kilmarnock for a possible intoxicated driver.

December 9: Staff responded to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for vandalism in an attempt to steal a compressor and two refrigeration units, to the 100 block of Shoreline Drive for a suspicious vehicle, to the 100 block of Hoecake Road for a downed tree in the roadway, to the 100 block of Kathy Drive for a person overdosed on narcotics, to the 100 block of Fox Hill Drive for a domestic disturbance involving a person with an altered mental status, to Weems and Irvington roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash, and to the 100 block of Windmill Creek Lane for suspicious activity.

December 10: Staff responded to Irvington Road and White Pine Drive for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard, to the 2800 block of White Chapel Road for a juvenile behavior issue, to Beanes and Twin Branch roads for a two-vehicle traffic crash with injuries.

December 11: Staff responded to the 2500 block of Irvington Road for a domestic disturbance and a medical issue.

Staff also conducted 14 traffic stops, issued seven summonses, assisted four motorists, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled nine calls for traffic control, investigated three building alarms, processed a mental health order, logged three inmate transports and received eight E911 hang up calls.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a traffic crash on North Main Street.

White Stone VFD responded to a fire/smoke alarm on Pop Castle Road.

Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a traffic crash at Twin Branch and Beanes roads and established a landing zone for emergency medical services off Mary Ball Road.

Northumberland County Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp this week reported charges against 13 individuals.

Felonies

Nickolas Van-Jor Chinn, 22, of Heathsville was charged November 22 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violating his probation. He was arrested by the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office.

Brandon Elliott Turner, 36, of Heathsville was charged November 23 with abduction by force, malicious wounding and obstructing communication to prevent a call for help in Lancaster County. He also was charged with a capias/attachment of the body issued by the King & Queen County General District Court for failing to report to jail as ordered. He also was charged with grand larceny, driving while suspended and a capias/attachment of the body all issued by Chesterfield County. He was arrested by the Northumberland County Sheriff’s Office (NCSO).

Christopher Michael Syndor, 31, of Warsaw was charged December 8 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violating his probation on an original charge of aggravated malicious wounding. He was arrested by the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO).

Daniel Lewis Stokes, 36, of Reedville was charged December 8 with a capias to show cause issued by the Northumberland County Circuit Court for violating his probation on an original charge of not registering as a tier III sex offender. He was arrested by the RCSO.

Misdemeanors

A Warsaw man, 33, was charged November 19 with assault and battery and damaging property.

A Burgess man, 54, was charged November 20 with assault and battery of a family member.

A Heathsville woman, 51, was charged November 20 with 11 counts of petit larceny from the Walmart in Kilmarnock. These were Lancaster County warrants served by the NCSO.

A Heathsville man, 39, was charged November 22 with failing to appear in the Northumberland County General District Court on an original charge of criminal trespassing.

A Heathsville woman, 35, was charged November 26 with petit larceny from the Walmart in Kilmarnock. This was a Lancaster County warrant served by the NCSO.

A Reedville man, 18, was charged November 28 with disregarding a law enforcement signal and obstructing justice.

A Reedville woman, 44, was charged November 28 with allowing a person/persons to drive without a legal right to drive.

A Lynchburg woman, 32, was charged December 3 with petit larceny. This was a Lynchburg warrant, served by the NCSO.

A Heathsville man, 47, was charged December 3 with assault and battery of a family member.
