LANCASTER—The Lancaster County Circuit Court convened Friday, December 8, with the Hon. Steven S. Smith presiding.
In the case of Cody O’Brien Sanders of Warsaw, charged with a felony for malicious wounding, an arraignment was continued; a capias is still outstanding. A trial remains scheduled for February 2.
In the case of Monterra T. Cottrell, no address given, charged with eight felonies for failing to appear and four felonies for violating probation, a capias hearing was scheduled for January 5.
Kelly M. Abbott of Lancaster pleaded guilty to a felony for possession of a Schedule I/II substance and a misdemeanor for driving while intoxicated, first offense. She was given a five-year suspended sentence and ordered to pay $560 in court costs on the drug possession charge and a sentence of 365 days with all but one day suspended on the DWI. She was fined $350 and her license was suspended for 12 months.
In the case of Erick K. Marlow of Lancaster, charged with a felony for extortion in writing, he was found not guilty by reason of insanity.
