Sheriff’s Report 12-14-23

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported misdemeanor charges against five individuals.

A Lancaster man, 32, was charged December 7 with assault and battery.

A Warsaw man, 33, was charged December 8 with malicious wounding.

A Kilmarnock man, 30, was charged December 9 with failure to appear in Lancaster County General District Court on a previous failure to appear and underlying charge.

A Deltaville man, 34, was charged December 8 with failure to appear in Middlesex County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court-Adult, and a probation violation.

A Lancaster woman, 27, was charged December 8 with destruction of property, and assault and battery of a family or household member.

December 5: Staff responded to the 300 block of Weems Road for a verbal disagreement, and to the 200 block of James Wharf Road for a suspicious vehicle.

December 6: Staff responded to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for debris in the highway, to East Church Street for a verbal disagreement, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity, to the 3000 block of Lara Road for a domestic disturbance, and to the 6000 block of Windmill Point Road for a verbal disagreement.

December 7: Staff responded to the Norris Bridge for debris in the highway, and to the 10000 block of Jessie duPont Memorial Highway for a two-vehicle traffic crash.

December 8: Staff responded to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order, to the 3000 block of Lara Road for a fight in progress, to the 2000 block of Merry Point Road for trespassing, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for a citizen requesting an emergency protective order, and to the 200 block of Campbell Road for a noise complaint.

December 9: Staff responded to the 600 block of Chesapeake Drive for shooting into an occupied business, to 100 block of First Street for a stolen vehicle, to the 4000 block of Windmill Point Road for a downed tree in the highway, to the 1600 block of Waverly Avenue for larceny, to the 6000 block of Mary Ball Road for an adult welfare check, to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for suspicious activity, to the 2000 block of Lara Road for an adult welfare check, to the 300 block of East Church Street for a verbal disagreement, and to the 100 block of Marina Road for road rage.

December 10: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Pinckardsville roads for a vehicle hit and run, to 100 block of Morattico Road for larceny, to the 200 block of Shore Drive for an adult welfare check, to the 100 block of Heron Cove for a domestic disturbance, to James Jones Memorial Highway and North Main Street for a disabled vehicle, and to 3000 block of White Chapel Road for a downed tree in the highway.

December 11: Staff responded to the 1300 block of Devils Bottom Road for a downed tree in the highway, to the 7000 block of Courthouse Road for a downed tree in the highway, to the 100 block of Walden Drive for a citizen requesting assistance, to the 100 block of Quarters Cove Drive for a downed tree in the highway, and to the 8000 block of Mary Ball Road for brandishing a firearm.

Staff also conducted 20 traffic stops, issued15 summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded two deer strike accidents, handled three calls for traffic control, investigated five building alarms, logged two inmate transports, received four E911 hang up calls, and fielded two calls for animal control service.

Fire calls

The White Stone Volunteer Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at 91 York Road.

The Upper Lancaster VFD responded to a fire alarm at 10063 River Road and to an electrical fire at 485 Oak Hill Road.

The Kilmarnock, White Stone and Upper Lancaster VFDs responded to a structure fire at 1650 Mount Olive Road.
