Sheriff’s Report 08-18-22

Lancaster County Sheriff Patrick McCranie this week reported charges against four individuals.

Felonies

Kendrick Lamar Diggs, 31, of Lancaster, was charged August 11 with three counts of distribution of narcotics for resale, Schedule I/II, possession of a firearm after having been convicted of a felony, disregard/elude the signal to stop by law enforcement, and contempt of court, failure to appear.

Megan Cierra Hill, 32, of Kilmarnock was charged August 11 with parole/probation violation on a felony offense.

Misdemeanors

A Weems man, 65, was charged August 9 with assault.

A Weems man, 35, was charged August 10 with assault and battery of a family member.

Activity report

August 8: Staff responded to the 1700 block of Weems Road for a small child unattended walking in the middle of the roadway, to the 400 block of Twin Branch Road for a male pointing a weapon toward other individuals, to the 100 block of Wharton Grove Lane for a person riding a dirt bike on the roadway, to the 600 block of North Main Street for a reckless driver, and to a walk-in report of an assault that occurred at the 300 block of Senora Road.

August 9: Staff responded to the 100 block of Old Bethel Road for the report of an abandoned vehicle.

August 10: Staff responded to the 100 block of Whisk Drive for a motorist in distress, to the 3200 block of Irvington Road for a domestic assault, to the 300 block of Twin Branch Road to check the welfare of juveniles, to the 100 block of Wood Drive for a child sexual assault, to the 3200 block of Irvington Road for a domestic disturbance involving alcohol, and to Mary Ball and Methodist Church roads for a reckless driver.

August 11: Staff responded to the 100 block of Walden Drive for a lost/stolen wallet, to the 100 block of Jeffrey Avenue for trucks dumping at the end of the road, to a walk-in report of mail fraud, to a walk-in report of a stolen catalytic converter that occurred at the 18700 block of Mary Ball Road, to the 2200 block of Weems Road for a suspicious vehicle, and Cedar Pointe Road for a person operating a dirt bike on the public roadway.

August 12: Staff responded to the 300 block of The Lane for a vehicle parked in the roadway, to the 3100 block of Irvington Road for a single-vehicle traffic crash, to the 100 block of Whisk Drive for debris in the roadway causing a traffic hazard.

August 13: Staff responded to Mary Ball and Ocran roads for a disabled vehicle, to the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge for a disabled vehicle blocking traffic, to the 100 block of Windjammer Lane for an intoxicated and disorderly person; to Grace Hill Circle for a suspicious vehicle, to the 600 block of King Carter Drive for a civil issue, and to Mary Ball Road and Avis Trail for a suspicious vehicle.

August 14: Staff responded to the 500 block of Devils Bottom Road for a verbal disagreement over a land dispute, to the 9000 block of River Road for a child custody dispute, and to the 200 block of Irvington Road for the report of suspicious vehicle.

Staff also conducted five traffic stops, issued eight summonses, assisted a motorist, recorded two deer strike accident, investigated four building alarms,  logged three inmate transports, received 20 E911 hang up calls, and fielded a call for animal control.

Fire calls

Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department responded to a dryer fire on Goodluck Road.

Kilmarnock and Upper Lancaster VFDs responded to a structure fire on Crystal Lane.

White Stone VFD responded to a carbon monoxide alarm on Heron Cove.
