Lancaster defeats Middlesex 8-4, 5-1

The Red Devils picked up two wins in as many days over Tidewater District’s Middlesex to improve to 5-6 in varsity baseball. Lancaster beat the Chargers, 5-1, in Saluda, June 1, then defeated MHS, 8-4, at Dream Fields, June 2.

One game remains in regular season play with the Region 1A tournament beginning Monday, June 14, at the high seeds.

Lancaster 8, Middlesex 4

Lancaster jumped to a four-run lead in the bottom of the first and went on to beat Middlesex, 8-4.

Jayden Chapman drove in a run with a base hit after back-to-back singles by Sean Thomas, Brendan Walker and Gavyn Hathaway loaded the bases in the bottom of the first. A Jonathan Lee single to left field scored…
