November ballot is shaping up

With Primary Election Day over and the deadline passed for candidates to file, voters in Lancaster and Northumberland counties know more about who will be on the ballot come November 2.

All results are still unofficial. Ballots postmarked on or before Primary Election Day Tuesday, June 8, may be accepted up until noon Friday, June 11.

In addition to the local elections, statewide offices for governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general and District 99 House of Delegates will be on the ballot.

Democrats

In the race for the Democratic nomination for governor, according to the Virginia Department of Elections website, former Gov. Terry R. McAuliffe was a clear winner, garnering 62.17% of the vote statewide. In Lancaster and Northumberland it was much the same…..[to-view-more]
