With four golfers on each team in, Lancaster trailed Rappahannock by six strokes in the Northern Neck District (NND) championships Tuesday, September 23, at Hobbs Hole Golf Course in Tappahannock.

Spectators and LHS golfers and parents waited, tensely calculating scenarios when Alex Fulmer’s score was posted. Fulmer, playing in the number five spot, shot an 82—the second lowest on the team, to help lead Lancaster to a team low 328 for the Northern Neck District championship.
Lancaster’s number one, Tyler Brent, continued to lead district golfers, shooting a three-over-par 74 as the tournament gold medalist and the NND golfer of the year.
“To the other teams because he’s our five, Alex is our sleeper pick,” said LHS coach Rob Pittman. “But no one else sees him showing up on the weekends by himself to practice or walk the course after tournaments. Although his score was a surprise to some, I’ve seen it coming for weeks. I couldn’t be happier for him but it’s just the beginning.”
Lancaster’s number two, Isaac Hernandez, shot an 83 and number four Thomas Major an 89. Braden George and Ty Makulowich also played for the Red Devils.
“I keep pushing trust and a belief in the team,” said Pittman. “Every player should trust that a teammate in front of them or behind them is doing….
