Lancaster indoor track teams tally impressive marks in season opener

Lancaster had two individual medalists and a runner-up in the Boo Williams Indoor Season Opener in Hampton last Saturday.

Matthew Kane won the 1600 meter in 5:02.45 and Reece Rhodes recorded a state-qualifying distance of 46’5” to win the shot put.

Lancaster’s Trajan Waddy, Xavier Gaddy and Jeremia Laws also turned in state qualifying times for the Red Devils. Waddy and Gaddy qualified in the 55 meter hurdles with Waddy placing 17th in 9.26 and Gaddy placing 18th in 9.27. Laws ran the 55 meter dash in 6.96 to pre-qualify for the state meet.

Lancaster had six others finish in the top 10 in their respective events….
