LANCASTER—Following a public hearing, the planning commission on Monday, November 22, found the latest proposed solar facility, Sandale Solar, in substantial compliance with the comprehensive plan.
In a 6-0 vote, the commission recommended the project to the board of supervisors for approval. Steve Sorensen, David Chupp, Tom Richardson, Ty Brent, Tara Booth and Latoy Davenport voted in favor of the measure. Glendon Pinn was absent.
Similar to the 5-megawatt White Stone Ocran Solar project approved by the board on November 18, Sandale Solar is a smaller-scale project, a 3-megawatt, 18.5-acre facility on 58 acres of agricultural land off of Old Salem Road owned by Nancy Haynie Fisher.
