LANCASTER—Lancaster County will host two upcoming public events to discuss proposed text and map amendments establishing a legacy residential (LR-2) zoning district.
The new zoning district will formalize guidelines for properties in the county’s original residential apartment (R-2) zoning district, which was repealed June 30, 2005, reported director of planning and land use Olivia Hall.
A public information meeting will be held from 4-6 p.m. August 10 at Lancaster Community Library, 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock. This session will allow community members to view proposed zoning maps, ask questions directly to planning staff and understand how the updates protect affected subdivisions before any formal legislative action is taken, said Hall.
The board of supervisors and the planning commission will conduct a joint public hearing at 7 p.m. August 27 at the County Administrative Building, 8311 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster.
