LANCASTER—Lancaster County Treasurer Bonnie Dickson recently was sworn in as president of the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia (TAV) during the organization’s annual conference in Williamsburg.

Lancaster County Treasurer Bonnie Dickson recently was elected president of the Treasurers’ Association of Virginia.

“It is peer nominated and peer elected. It’s very humbling to know that your own group of people think enough of you to do this,” said Dickson. “They talk about TAV being a family, and it’s not just talk, because some of these people are my closest friends. Yes, we can call each other and say, how do you do something? What’s the best way of doing something? But you also build these relationships with folks.”

Dickson grew up in New York before moving to Virginia in 1992. She began working for the county as the accounts administrator in 1998. When then-Lancaster County Treasurer Anna Lee Haynie announced her retirement in 2006, Dickson successfully campaigned to….
