KILMARNOCK—In a unanimous 5-0 vote, the Lancaster school board on Monday, March 7, approved a proposed $19,527,282 budget which will now go to the board of supervisors at a Thursday, March 10, special called budget work session.
At the request of the supervisors, the school board looked at three staff raise options, all of which gave teachers a 10% raise (8.5% increase plus a 1.5% step). The three options gave the rest of staff 5%, 7% or 10% raises.
Superintendent Dan Russell recommended the 10% raise across the board. “That gives the board of supervisors and this board a chance to work through….
