Lancaster swimmers place second and third

Lancaster High swimmers Ella Posey and Dallas Walker finished second and third, respectively, in the girls 50 yard freestyle event at a January 25 swim meet in Kilmarnock.

Appomattox Regional Governor’s School (ARGS) swimmer Katherine Yartz won both the 50 and 100 yard freestyle races. Yartz swam the 50 in 29.94 and Posey had a time of 30.94 as the runner-up. Walker was third in 33.10.

Yartz won the 100 in 1:09.77 and Posey swam the race in 1:10.33 as the runner-up. Walker was third (1:18.38).

Posey also finished as the runner-up in the 50 freestyle last Friday in a three-team meet against Christchurch and Middlesex. Olatz Arteta of Christchurch won the race in 28.26 and Posey was the runner-up in 30.71.

Arteta also won the 100 freestyle (1:03.70) with Posey finishing third in 1:08.22.
