Lancaster updates solar and heliport regulations

LANCASTER—Lancaster supervisors closed out the year by unanimously approving changes to small scale solar and private heliport ordinances at the December 11 meeting.

Director of planning and land use Olivia Hall said the proposed changes to solar were “in response to concerns regarding an existing solar facility on residential property,” and noted that supervisors had previously asked the planning commission to review “if the actual configuration, location and operation of these existing solar facilities are coalescing with the intent of the ordinance as it relates to small scale residential solar facility, specifically size, height, location and noise.”

Following public hearings without comment, supervisors revised the solar ordinance, renaming the ordinance small-scale solar instead of….
