Lancaster varsity football builds momentum as homecoming dawns

Lancaster is hoping for its first “official” win and a homecoming victory tomorrow, October 10, when it hosts Colonial Beach in varsity football.

The Red Devils fell to 1-4 Friday, October 3, after losing 37-19 to Arcadia on the Eastern Shore. The Firebirds were a late addition to the LHS schedule, filling a void left when Mathews cancelled the remainder of its season two weeks ago. Lancaster’s only win came as a result of a forfeit by Charles City in the season opener. The Panthers are struggling to get through the season and forfeited to Essex last week.

Despite the loss, Lancaster’s offensive stats were much improved against Arcadia with the Devils gaining 373 total yards, including 230 in the air and another 143 on the ground.
