WHITE STONE—Larry Raymond Davenport, 64, of White Stone passed away on January 31, 2026. He was born on December 5, 1961, to the late William Larry and Shelva Jean (Abbott) Davenport.
Larry was a General Motors master auto technician, although he was a Ford person at heart. He was an avid Harley bike enthusiast and a member of the Harley Hog Chapter. He was a gifted technician who could fix just about anything. If something was broken, he didn’t see a problem—he saw a challenge. With his hands, his mind and a lifetime of experience, he had a rare ability to make things work again.
Those who knew him knew he was stubborn in his ways, but that stubbornness came from knowing who he was and standing firm in what he believed. Beneath that strong exterior was an incredibly kind being, someone who would help without being asked and care without needing recognition.
Above all else, Larry loved his daughter Kelly deeply. His love was constant, protective and unwavering. She was his pride, his heart and one of the greatest joys of his life.
He will be remembered for his skill, his dedication, his stubborn charm and the love he gave so freely. He leaves behind memories that will live on in every engine that starts, every problem solved and every life he touched.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Kelly Davenport of Urbanna; his partner in life, Vicki Martin of Urbanna; his sisters, Janet Hernandez (David) of Del City, Okla., and Debra Geroge of Orange; his uncle, George W. Abbott Jr. of Weems; and several great nieces, nephews and cousins.
Along with his parents, Larry was predeceased by his niece, Kiki Hernandez; and his beloved furry best friend, Bear.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at White Stone Methodist Church, with interment in the church cemetery where his parents rest.
