LCL receives funding for new mobile library

KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster Community Library (LCL), 16 Town Centre Drive, Kilmarnock, recently received funding for a new mobile library that should be in service by the summer of 2022.

The vehicle contract has been awarded to Farber Specialty Vehicles in Columbus, Ohio. The exterior design and graphics will be sent out for bid and completed locally.

“The Jessie Ball duPont Fund provided the original grant for our Storymobile in 1991,” said library director Alice Cooper. “Funding from the Jessie Ball duPont Fund, The River Counties Community Foundation (RCCF) and Friends of the Library book sales, make it possible for us to replace the original 1991 vehicle with a state of the art mobile library.
