KING GEORGE—Lenora Costella Briscoe Bland died November 6, 2023.
She was born on September 27, 1929, in Washington, D.C., to the late Warren Briscoe and Sarah Newton Brockington.
She was a member of Little Ark Baptist Church (LABC) and sang with the JW Chapman Chorus and the Volunteer Singers of LABC. She also served as an usher and a deaconess.
Lenora is survived by her sons, Rev. Leonard Bland, Trustee Tony Bland and Kevin Bland; grandchildren,Tyrone, David, Danielle, Keith, Kevin, Timothy, Rhonda, Dion, Justin, Tonya, Latoya, Natasha, Shantae, Lania and Kevin; several great-grandchildren; and sister, Hazel Lewis.
Lenora was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Clarence Bland; sons, Deacon Clarence “Ronnie” and Deacon Kenneth; and brother, Phillip Lewis.
A funeral was held Friday, November 17, at LABC. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
