LHS freshman and first-year coach top postseason region and district rosters

A freshman and a first-year head coach have received the highest honors in both the Region A and Northern Neck District for varsity boys basketball.

Lancaster’s Troy Henderson, a freshman guard who hit more than 70 three-pointers and scored 407 points during the regular season, was selected as both the region and district player of the year.

Dwayne Pinn, in his first year as the Red Devils head coach, led Lancaster to the Region 1A championship and a home berth in the Class 1 tournament with a 23-1 overall record. He was selected by his peers as the district and region coach of the year.

The Devils, who went 20-1 during the regular season and were undefeated against district teams….
