Rappahannock High School, which finished as the Region 1A runner-up and will travel to play Rappahannock County in this week’s Class 1 state tournament, led the list of All Northern Neck District selections.
Junior Candace Slaw, who led the Raiders to a 13-6 regular season record, was named the district’s player of the year and filled a spot on the all-district first team. Teammate junior Nakiya West also was named to the first team and Rappahannock High junior Layla Gaines and sophomore Reagan Cameron were second team selections.
West Point edged Rappahannock, 38-30, in the regional championship last Saturday. The Raiders advanced….
