Lancaster High School coach Rob Pittman isn’t fond of the description “rebuilding year,” but that term fits this golf season.
Pittman has the biggest roster he’s ever had with 16 golfers, including three eighth grade junior varsity players. However, only two golfers on the roster are starting returners, a few are new to the sport and a few others are transfers.
“It’s always good to see a program grow and a lot of these guys are young, which is what you want for the future of the program,” he said. “But we have new players to competition at this level, which is different than just playing with your friends. So there is some learning involved.”
