The Lancaster High School Red Devils Band just finished its marching season for the year. According to band director Kenny Flester, it’s one of the most successful ones they’ve had in several years.
“I’m so incredibly proud of what the band has accomplished this year,” said Flester. “It’s amazing the growth they have made, not just in numbers, but in ability.”
The LHS band participated in many events recently, including a pep rally, performing at the request of administration for the faculty and school board and the home football games. Band Day was a huge success.
“I love seeing how the community supports us, and it’s so evident at Band Day,” he said.
The band won first place for best marching band in the Warsawfest parade, which was the first time it had participated in at least three years.
However, its biggest accomplishment was winning the Captain’s Award in the 68th Urbanna Oyster Festival parade….
