Sixth graders visit Civil War Museum

The Lancaster Elementary School sixth grade class recently visited the Civil War Museum in Richmond, where history came alive through immersive learning experiences.

The museum visit was organized into four interactive stations, each offering a perspective on the Civil War era, reported Holly W. Braly. Students began in the permanent gallery, home to more than 500 artifacts that illustrate the conflict’s impact on American life.

At the second station, students became junior historians, examining real artifacts and using critical thinking to uncover the stories behind them….
