LHS sprinters running in postseason events

Lancaster’s De’Avion Harding and Marcus Keeve raced each other to the finish line in the boys 500-meter last week to produce a Region 1A/2A indoor track champion and runner-up, and the Red Devils’ speedster Chris Dameron sprinted to a gold medal in the 55-meter.

LHS finished fourth in the boys meet with 56 points. Maggie Walker won the 2A championship with 185 points, Brunswick was second with 72 and Bruton third with 58. The meet was held at Arthur Ashe Center in Richmond.

Lancaster had five boys compete in seven of the 15 events.

“Coach Draper Washington and I knew going into the boys 500 it was going to be a great race,” said LHS assistant coach James Timm. “Maggie Walker had the first and third seeds in the state and we had the second seed in the state with Marcus and fourth in the state with De’Avion. At the break…
