LHS tennis squad eliminated in regional quarterfinals, 5-1

Despite an early exit in postseason play, Lancaster High’s girls tennis team celebrated several accomplishments. The Lady Devils went 5-5 and earned a home berth in the Region A quarterfinals in its first season.

After beating West Point during the regular season, Lancaster fell to the Tidewater District team, 5-1, to end the season in the first round of regional play Monday at Indian Creek Yacht and Country Club.

“We were definitely outworked,” said LHS coach George Christoforatos. “You could clearly see they had worked hard in this rematch and were ready for us….
