The Garden Club of Virginia will present a statewide flower show hosted by the Garden Club of the Northern Neck June 17 and 18 at Chesapeake Academy (CA), 107 Steamboat Road, Irvington.
Lilies in Bloom: “Flourish” is dedicated to the memory of Helen Turner Murphy, formerly of Westmoreland County. Murphy was an active member of the Garden Club of the Northern Neck, serving as its president and later going on to serve the Garden Club of Virginia as its president, but lilies were her true passion.
Several events associated with the show are open to the public. Featured speaker Patsy Smith will present “Lily Lust!” at 11 a.m. June 17, in the CA auditorium….
