KILMARNOCK—Linda Marie Small passed away peacefully on July 19, 2022, at the age of 69. She was a valued member of Kilmarnock Baptist Church and loved her church family.
She was born in Worcester, Massachusetts, on June 13, 1953. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Marjorie Fortin, and her sister, Diane Pollier.
She is survived by her nephew, Michael Pollier (Rachel) and their children, Gabriel and Maverick. She is also survived by her niece, Michelle Meloche (Jeremy) and their children, Lincoln and Lila.
Linda moved from Massachusetts to Virginia Beach and then to Kilmarnock many years ago. She was very outgoing and made many friends. She was very fond of all the neighborhood young people; no matter their age, she asked them all to call her “Auntie.”
She always enjoyed walking and biking around Kilmarnock. She loved all animals, especially her companion cat Muffin, who has now been adopted by a good friend, and her dog Foxy, who passed in 2021. Gardening and feeding the birds and squirrels in her yard brought her much joy. Linda was always sharing her groceries and whatever she had to help others.
During her long illness, she was very grateful and thankful for the care and compassion she received at RGH, Dockside, Walter Reed and VCU.
Having charged her nephew, Michael Pollier, with responsibility for her final arrangements, her ashes will be returned to her beloved Massachusetts and spread near her loving sister, Diane.
