Local KHISH volunteers return from Honduras

Residents of the Northern Neck often go south in the winter for the warm weather and bright sunshine. From January 1-9, Ron and Susan David, and Linda Parks went way south to Honduras where the average temperatures are 95-100+ with lots of hot sun shining everywhere.

Their purpose was not to get a tan, but to be part of the annual medical mission team sponsored by KHISH (Key Humanitarian Initiative for Southern Honduras), reported Parks.

KHISH brings ophthalmologists and optometrists from all around the U.S., along with their support staff, to Southern Honduras each January to perform cataract and other eye surgeries, to people who have lost…
