Longtime radio personality Tom Davis is grand marshal of the Urbanna parade

Longtime radio personality Tom Davis of Wicomico Church has been named grand marshal of the 21st annual Urbanna Hometown Christmas Parade. Members of the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department (MVFD) Ladies’ Auxiliary have been named honorary grand marshals.

The parade will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, December 6. Following the parade Santa Claus will make a visit from the North Pole to the Urbanna Firehouse to visit with children.

Davis was born at the office of the late Dr. Melvin B. Lamberth Jr. in Kilmarnock. Shortly after he was born, the Davis family moved from Kilmarnock to Maryland where they lived for 10 years. After that, they moved back to Lancaster where he graduated from Lancaster High School in 1972.

After high school, Davis graduated from Ohio Institute of Technology where he majored in electronics. When he moved home to Kilmarnock his first job was as a broadcaster with radio station WKWI…
