REEDVILLE—Louise Ganley Czwartacki, 74, of Reedville died Friday, August 5, 2022.
She was born Louise Claire Ganley on November 24, 1947, in Washington, D.C., to Esther (Mone) and Charles Ganley.
Louise is survived by her devoted husband of over 50 years, Richard Czwartacki; loving mother to Patrick, Tracie (Dan) and Stephen (Brooke); Nana to Jackson, Ainsley, Kelsey and Andrew. She was the sister of the late Michael Ganley; and is survived by Mary Walter and Charley Ganley.
She retired in 2011 as the chief operating officer of Maryland Bank & Trust where she served on numerous professional boards and committees and, having shattered glass ceilings herself, she supported women in their careers and helped many others to advance. Beyond her successes, Louise was kind-hearted, caring, and a devoted wife, mother, Nana, aunt and cousin. She had an infectious laugh, a wicked sense of humor, loved her family, and was dedicated to her job and community.
Louise and her husband, Rick, loved visiting the Northern Neck while raising their children and made their final move there in 2011. They planned and built their dream home on the Great Wicomico, where she spent her final years enjoying the water view, listening to music, reading and enjoying visits with her grandchildren and neighbors.
A wake will be held from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, August 18, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 19, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Kilmarnock.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Louise Czwartacki to the Alzheimer’s Association Greater Richmond Chapter, 4600 Cox Road, Richmond, VA 23060.
