Lovin’ on MJ, rockin’ on the beach

The sweet sounds of classic rock, original folk and Piedmont blues filled the air at Something About Mary, a music festival held Sunday, May 1, at Willaby’s Beach in White Stone.

Some 300 people attended the sold-out event, which raised money for MJ Anderson and her family to mitigate the costs of cancer treatment, said Susan Johnson, one of the event organizers.

The bands included Mercy Creek, Christine Whitaker Wiggins, Jackie & Resa, DeadRise, and The Midnight Coal Company.
