REEDVILLE—A man remains in critical condition this week after a domestic disturbance call in Northumberland County August 20.
According to Northumberland Sheriff Johnny Beauchamp, Jazmin Marie Shipp, 26, of Callao has been arrested and is currently charged with malicious wounding following an incident in the 500 block of Menhaden Road in Reedville.
The call came in at 9:35 p.m. and deputies arrived to find a male victim trapped under a car. According to Sheriff Beauchamp, Shipp was the alleged driver of the vehicle and there “appears to have been a domestic disagreement at some point.”
The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and was flown from a nearby landing site to VCU Medical Center in Richmond. His name is not being released by the Sheriff’s Office at this time.
The incident is still under investigation, said Sheriff Beauchamp.
Shipp will be arraigned at 9 a.m. Friday, August 25, in Northumberland County Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court.
