KILMARNOCK—Margaret Bea “Moy” Owens of Kilmarnock died Thursday, September 3, at Lancashire Convalescent and Rehabilitation
Margaret was born in Northumberland on November 24, 1933, to the late Nevis Bea Sr. and Geneva Butler Bea. She attended Booker T. Washington School in Browns Store and was a member of First Baptist Church, Heathsville.
She also was predeceased by her husband, James Purcell Owens Sr.; three children, Lorraine “Bo” Owens, Vanessa “Nessa” Owens and Mary “Trudy” Seldon; three grandchildren, Joseph Jerry Owens, Antonio Washington and Andrea Scott; one brother, Freddy Bea; and two sisters, Genevieve Bea and Helen King.
She is survived by her seven daughters, Patricia Jones (Maurice), Bertena Robinson (Alvin Sr.), Gloria Fisher (Michael), Jacqueline Bunns (Maurice), Meshel Harding (Karl), Marcell Redmond (David) and Gidget Owens (Delano); her four sons, James Purcell Owens Jr., (Evelyn), Raymond Owens, Terraine Owens (Alice) and Jermaine Owens (Lolita); and one sister; Adele King (Maurice); and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, at Willie Chapel Baptist Church, Lancaster with Rev. Rose curry, pastor, and Rev. Dale Bunns, officiating.
