FARNHAM—It is with tremendously heavy hearts that we announce the passing of such a sweet man, Mark Alan Wiseman.
On Sunday, April 6, 2025, Mark went to Heaven at the age of 65. He was born to his parents, Ernest Carl Wiseman and Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Wheeler Wiseman on February 24, 1960, in Richmond. Mark was a lifelong member of his beloved home, the beautiful Northern Neck. He was known for being a very kind, amiable person that had many close friends and family.
He was truly the definition of a devoted family man. He was a faithful husband to his best friend, Debbie Wiseman, and was the father of the lights of his life, Brandon, Derek and Bridget. The memories they made with him will live on within them forever and he will always be a part of them. Mark was proud to be a part of his church, Cobham Park Baptist Church in Warsaw, where he served as a deacon.
He was a former board member at the Little League for Richmond County where he enjoyed watching and mentoring young kids having fun learning his favorite sports, baseball when his boys were young and softball when his daughter was ready to play. Coaching the youngsters on how to play ball was so rewarding for Mark. Watching them have fun with smiles on their faces warmed his heart. He also coached multiple travel ball teams with the kids. Even though baseball and softball had a special place in his heart, he loved watching all sports when he could.
Mark’s sweet memories will be cherished by his beloved wife, Deborah “Debbie” Wiseman; his adored children, Brandon Michael Wiseman (Marian), Derek Evan Wiseman and Bridget Danielle Wiseman (Mark); his sister, Carla Wiseman (Paul); his half-sister, Sue Bean (Louis); and his aunt, Shirley Williams (Wayne).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Liz Wiseman; and his half-brothers, Ronnie Wiseman and Ernest Carl “E.C.” Wiseman.
A funeral service for Mark will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 14, at Cobham Park Baptist Church with Reverend Keith Williams officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow after the service in the church cemetery.
