ROCK HILL, S.C.—Mary Dehn Sheppard, 91, a resident of Weems for many years, passed away Sunday, September 13, in Rock Hill, S.C.
She was born in 1928 in Baltimore, Md., to John and Naomi Dehn.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Lloyd W. Sheppard.
Mary is survived by her son, John Otha Sheppard and daughter-in-law, Cynthia Sheppard, of Rock Hill, S.C.; grandchildren, John Lloyd Sheppard (Laura) of New Hill, N.C., and Jennifer S. Buck (Christopher) of Cape Charles; and great-grandchildren, Alice and Violet Sheppard, and Ruby and Owen Buck. She is also survived by her brother, Edward S. Dehn of Baltimore.
Mary was a member of Campbell Memorial Church in Weems for over 50 years. She worked as a legal secretary for two Lancaster County Commonwealth’s Attorneys, The Dunton Law Firm in White Stone and a large law firm in Richmond. She was also administrative assistant to the Warden at the Virginia State Penitentiary in Richmond for 12 years.
Funeral arrangements will be made at a later date.
