HEATHSVILLE—Mary Yvonne Beery, 81, of Heathsville passed away December 22, 2025.

She was born on December 20, 1944, in Napa, California, the third child of five to Troy Irwin Frazier and Marie Hancock Frazier.

Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Christopher Beery; her son, John Christopher Beery Jr.; and sister, Catherine Sue Frazier.

She is survived by her daughter, Kathryn “Katie” Rachelle Beery of Heathsville; and her son, Michael Scott Beery and his wife Kris, and grandchildren Jack and Peyton of Ashburn. She is also survived by her sister, Troyena Campbell, and her husband Eddie Campbell of Searcy, Alaska; brother, Thomas Frazier, and wife Patti of Magalia, California; and brother, Darrell Frazier, and wife Chris of Pleasanton, California.

Yvonne grew up in Napa and at 18 years of age married John and moved to O’ahu, Hawaii, for four years where John served as a submariner in the Navy. Yvonne and her family then moved to Melbourne, Florida, where Katie and Michael were born. They then moved to Lake of the Woods, where she lived for the next 20 years supporting her husband and raising their children while working as a grocery store clerk/cashier for Safeway in Fredericksburg.

Yvonne was very active in sailing with her husband John and crewed for him during all of his sailing races and regattas over the years. She was also an active member in the Honda Goldwing Chapter U and loved riding motorcycles around the Virginia countryside with their friends and also on longer trips throughout the country including Colorado and into Canada.

Yvonne moved to the Northern Neck a year-and-a-half ago where she loved the beautiful scenery and taking golf cart rides with her dogs to the water.

A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 3, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, officiated by Pastor Maria Ferrand. The family received friends an hour prior to the service, and interment at Roseland Cemetery in Reedville.
