Mathews High School blew open a five-point lead in the fourth quarter with a 22-11 run for a 68-54 win over Lancaster in varsity girls basketball last Wednesday.
Mathews’ Joice Small led all scorers with 29 points, including 13 of her team’s 22 in the final quarter. She led three double digit scorers including Sarah Ashbaugh, who sank four treys in the first half for 12 points and Kayla Carr, who finished with 11 points.
