Merry Point Ferry painting project postponed until fall

LANCASTER—The Merry Point Ferry won’t have a spring break after all.

At the urging of the Lancaster board of supervisors to delay scheduled maintenance until fall, the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Northern Neck resident engineer David Beale has decided to do just that, according to communications manager Kelly Hanson.

“Passengers will have uninterrupted service on the Merry Point Ferry this spring and summer. Immediately after Labor Day….
