Michael Jett

ASHLAND—On February 5, 2022, Michael Jett, 74, left his temporary body on earth to join his Lord and Nancy in heaven.

He was born on December 7, 1947, in Ophelia and lived his first 19 years in Hacks Neck. He had been fighting COPD for some time but has now lost the battle. He was the son of Wilson and Doris Jett, both deceased, and preceded in death by his twin brother, Mitchell.

Michael attended Reedville Elementary School in Reedville and graduated in 1966 from Northumberland High School in Heathsville. He served his senior classmates as their president and continued to participate in the organizing of the class reunions. He loved his classmates and looked forward to the reunion every 5 years.

Mr. Jett is survived by his son, Tim Jett (Sharon); daughter, Michele Barker (Dennis); six grandchildren; sister, Patsy Bayse; and brother, Ronnie Jett (Linda).

Family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday, February 14, at Woody Funeral Home-Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Road, Mechanicsville, VA 23116.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment followed at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville. Family received friends one hour prior to the service at Currie Funeral Home.
