The Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association (TOGA) Middle School Essay Contest deadline is Thursday, December 15.
“Now is the time for middle school students to get creative and write an essay about the value of oysters to the bay and this whole area,” said Terry Lewis, TOGA Contest chair.
TOGA will offer prizes of $500, $250 and $100 for first, second and third places, respectively, for the top essays. A prize of $200 also will be awarded to the school of the top entry.
The theme is “Consider the Oyster.” Each essay must address something to do with oysters….
