Fifth year students and instructors of the String Orchestra of Northern Neck Youth (SONNY) recently performed in the atrium at the Boys & Girls Club in Kilmarnock as parents were picking up their children at the end of the day.
This was SONNY’s third community outreach performance of the year for nonprofit organizations in our region, reported program director Sue Nunn.
The program included “Jupiter” from The Planets by Gustav Holst, “Ludwig’s Tango,” a delightful arrangement of Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, and “Brandenburg,” an arrangement for junior string orchestra by JS Bach.
